Kindred Spirits and our online storeThekindreds.com are part of our umbrella brand "The Common Ground" (we ensure that your privacy and personal information are protected in accordance with local laws in the places where we operate (see below). For more information, please read the privacy and cookie statement below (the "Privacy Statement").

This privacy statement explains what types of information we collect from you, how we use that information, and when (under certain circumstances) we disclose it. It also explains the steps we've taken to protect your personal information. By visiting this site, you consent to the practices described in this privacy statement.

We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third party websites to which this site links or that link to this site.

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

Kindreds Spirits collects only the personal data you specifically and knowingly provide to us. Examples include name, postal and billing addresses, phone number, email address, credit card information, and customer preferences. Examples of how we collect this information include:

1. Registration and Ordering. Before using certain parts of this site or placing an order, you must complete a registration form. During registration, you will be asked for certain personal information, including, but not limited to, your name, mailing and billing addresses, phone number, email address, and credit card number. You may also be asked for your gender, country of residence, and/or, for corporate accounts, the country where your company operates, so we can comply with applicable laws and regulations. This type of personal information is used for billing purposes, to fulfill your orders, to communicate with you about your order and this site, and for internal marketing purposes. If there is an error with your order, we will use your personal information to contact you.
2. Email addresses. In some parts of the site, you can enter your email address to subscribe to our newsletter, for example, or to open an account with Kindred Spirits.
3. Live Support. Our Live Chat feature stores all conversations for a period determined by Kindreds Spirits. These transcripts are reviewed by Kindreds Spirits solely for training and customer service purposes.
4. Written reviews. Kindreds Spirits requires a valid registered email address and a review name to complete the review form for a specific Kindreds Spirits product. After the review process, your review, including your review name and date, will be posted on our site.
5. Video reviews. You may submit a video review by uploading a video to our site or embedding it directly on our site. The video can be rated, flagged, or shared by users visiting the site via email or social media (such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Google+). After the review process, the video will be uploaded to our site. If your Kindreds profile is linked to a social network (such as Facebook), your name will function as a hyperlink, and site users can click through to access your social network profile.

USE OF INFORMATION

We do not sell or rent any information about our customers, and all data provided to Kindred Spirits is treated confidentially, with the following exceptions:

1. We may share aggregated or summary information about our customers with partners, advertisers, or other third parties.
2. We may share information with companies that provide us with support services, such as printers, mailing companies, logistics companies, payment system providers, or web hosts. These companies need information about you to perform their duties and are bound by confidentiality agreements. Unless otherwise required by law, they may not use the personal data we provide about you for any other purpose.
3. We use your personal information to communicate with you about your orders and deliveries. We may also send you a confirmation email when you have registered or placed an order with us. If you provide your email address to subscribe to our newsletter or open a Kindreds Spirits account, we may also use your information to stay in touch with you and/or to track whether you open or click on a URL in Kindreds Spirits emails.
4. We may be required to disclose this information (a) in response to a subpoena, court order, or law enforcement request, (b) if the request is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of Kindreds Spirits or others, or (c) if we are otherwise required by law to disclose such information.
5. We may disclose the identity of the winner of online sweepstakes, contests, or promotions.
6. If Kindred Spirits or its assets are acquired or if we merge with another company, we may share your information with our legal successors.
7. We use your written and/or video review on our site and/or within Kindreds Spirits to improve and develop products, enhance the customer experience, and possibly for communication or PR purposes.

PROTECTING YOUR INFORMATION

We strive to make shopping on our site easy, safe, and reliable. We've implemented several measures, including our PCI DSS certification, so you can be assured that your order and credit card information are secure. In addition, the site's security has been tested and verified by security specialists.

Like most websites, Kindreds Spirits uses cookies or similar technologies (collectively referred to as "cookies"). Cookies are used to provide enhanced customer security, better tailor content to individual visitors, track orders, and enable shopping carts to function. We use the following types of cookies:

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

We do not intentionally collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If we learn that we have collected personally identifiable information from a website user under the age of thirteen, we will delete that child's personal information from our records.

OPT-OUT / CORRECTIONS

You may (a) access, correct, delete, or update your personal information; (b) stop us from sending you emails by clicking on the opt-out message in the communication or by emailing us at info@thekindreds.com; (c) tell us not to monitor whether you open and/or click on a URL in Kindred Spirits emails by clicking on the opt-out message in the communication or by emailing us at info@thekindreds.com; and/or (d) suppress your account to prevent future purchases made through that account. Please note that when you suppress an account, we retain certain information (including, but not limited to, personal information) to comply with our legal and accounting obligations, for business reasons, and to protect Kindred Spirits’ interests (e.g., invoices, payment details, shipping and transaction information, etc.). You can also submit such requests to Kindred Spirits Customer Service at service@thekindreds.com. Please clearly state "Opt out/Corrections" in the subject line and do not include your credit card number or other sensitive information in the email. In specific cases, you may be asked to provide identification and proof of payment.

OFFLINE COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

Most of the information we collect is obtained through our site, and this privacy statement applies solely to the online collection of personal information described herein. We also collect information offline, and we strive to protect your personal information in the same way. For example, someone may call us to place an order or ask a question. When someone calls, we only ask for the information we need to process the order or answer the question. If we need to store information (such as order information), we enter it into our database using SSL encryption (see the previous section, "Protecting Your Information"). All phone calls are recorded for training and customer service purposes and to document potential transactions. Calls are retained for a period determined by Kindred Spirits.

PROMOTIONS AND SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Thekindreds.com regularly runs promotions. Discount codes do not work in conjunction with special promotions or during promotional periods.

RETURN POLICY GIFT PROMOTIONS

If you return (part of) your order, your gift level will change based on the new order total. We're happy to explain this clearly:

1. Are you staying above €175?

Then everything will remain as it is — you can keep your luxury gift (saddle bag or Suzani bodywarmer).

2. Do you end up between €125 and €175?

You are still entitled to a gift, but at this level the travel set.

Do you want to keep the luxury gift? No problem! We will then only settle the difference between the luxury gift and the travel set.

Example:
Luxe gift €159,95 – Travelset €119,95 = €40 additional payment

3. Do you end up under €125?

Then the gift level expires.
In that case, we ask you to return the gift.

Prefer to keep?
That is also possible - we will simply deduct the value of the gift from the refund.

When returning complete orders that included a free gift, the free gift must also be returned. If the entire order is returned (without the free gift), the gift value will be deducted from the refunded purchase price.

Warranty on defective products

Our warranty policy:
If your purchased products are damaged or otherwise exhibit material or manufacturing defects, please contact us by email at the address listed below. This warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, intentional damage, abnormal storage, alterations, repairs, improper fit, or improper or unreasonable use. If products are defective, we will, at our discretion, either issue a store credit, repair the defective products, or send you replacement products free of charge.

SHOES: If you honestly believe that Kindred Spirits shoes you purchased are defective in materials and workmanship within 6 months of the date of purchase, please email service@thekindreds.com with the following information: (a) order number (in the subject line), (b) brief description of the problem, (c) photographs of the product, (d) mailing address for repaired/replacement products, and (e) proof of purchase (required).

We may occasionally make changes to our privacy statement. Therefore, we encourage you to review this privacy statement periodically to stay informed of any changes.
